Vendée Globe

The race known as the Vendée Globe is a single-handed round-the-world event that starts and ends in France. America’s Cup

America’s Cup is a prestigious international sailboat racing event that dates back to 1851. It attracts prominent individuals and organizations, such as the wealthiest yacht designers and professional sailors. Besides being a sailing event, the competition also features a design contest.

Barcelona is set to be the host of the 37th America’s Cup in September and October of 2024. The city of Barcelona is known for its sustainable development and technological prowess. The city’s existing facilities, such as its team bases and yacht homes, will allow America’s Cup to be held in a completely different environment.

Volvo Ocean Race

The Volvo Ocean Race, which started in 1973, is regarded as the longest and most challenging professional sailing event that can be conducted. It’s usually conducted every three years. The event’s participants are expected to face harsh weather conditions during a nine-month period.

Leg one of this race begins in January of 2023, kicking off in Alicante, Spain. It will visit nine international cities throughout its running.

Cowes Week

One of the most prominent events in the British sporting calendar is the annual sailing tournament known as Cowes Week. It’s regarded as one of the oldest and largest sailing events in the world. It features around 8,000 participants, including professional sailors and amateurs. Besides being a sailing event, it also hosts various events and parties, including a fireworks finale.
